WIZARD OF OZ

Welcome to SUPERUNDERDOGGIE.COM!

This website is a collection of vintage toys and nostalgia from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s.  Most of these items are things I either own now or have owned in the past.  I am constantly on the look out for all of the great action, adventure, cowboy, and science fiction toys that were produced over the past 5 decades.  Whether its Star Trek, World's Greatest Super Heroes, GI Joe, The Lone Ranger, Comic Books, or other movie, TV, video game or action collectibles you can find it on this website.  That is what this site is all about.  Finding, discovering, and enjoying the treasures of our shared past.  If you have items you want to share with the world contact me and maybe I can put it on this site.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy!

NEW! 1957 MANTUA / TYCO SHARKNOSE SET

I picked up this rare 1957 Sharknose Train set by Mantua / Tyco back in 2014 in a box full of toys purchased at a flea market from the original owner.  I'm not a train guy, but thought it looked cool.  Little did I know that this set is extremely rare with the rail cars.  Too bad they didn't come with boxes!

Rare Finds and Discoveries

I have been extremely fortunate in my treasure hunting and over the years have been able to locate unique and rare items.  For example, I discovered the "mother lode" of Mego Star Trek Tricorders, more than 180 in all, this represents the entire inventory of the Mego Warehouse in Bohemia, NY return department.  How about Mego's US Carded Magna Heroes Hulk?  Only one each of each character was made and I have it.  How about a Mego World's Greatest Superheroes shipping carton for blister packed (carded) action figures?  That is another item that has been discovered over the years.  Each new discovery and vintage toy collection that is recovered allows for these toys to be salvaged from basements, attics, and possibly even landfills.  Even more importantly, I have been fortunate to meet some really amazing toy collectors that I consider deal friends and at times I've even been able to meet some of the designers, executives, and marketing people that made the vintage toys and comic books that we love possible.

Dedication

This site is dedicated to everyone who remains a kid at heart.  Over the years I have been fascinated not just by the amazing inventions that have been made to entertain and teach kids but also by the toy industry itself and its evolution over the years.  My journey began with a Mego Superman hanging on a toy store peg rack that I wanted almost more than anything in the world.  Unfortunately I didn't get that Superman doll as a child but almost 20 years later I was able to find and purchase a whole bunch of them!  In fact, discovering rare and unusual toys is something I've become quite handy at and on these pages you will find some of my discoveries.  I'm always out looking for more things so if you have something you want to share please contact me.  Otherwise please add this site to your favorites and keep checking back because you never know what I'll find next.  There's just something magical about the things we had as kids.  The tv shows, the toys, and the nostalgia.  It reminds us of friends we had, family we loved, and many long days of just enjoying being a kid.  I appreciate you stopping by to check out some of the things I've rediscovered over the years.  Take a break, look around, and enjoy going back in time to relive those old childhood memories of yours.
