Mego's
The Wizard of Oz
Action Figures for boys and girls

In the early 1970's Mego acquired the license to produce dolls for the Wizard of Oz franchise. This line of toys was wildly successful for them and soon little boys and girls everywhere were recreating scenes from the movie with their very own Dorothy and Toto, Tin Man, Glinda the Good Witch, The Cowardly Lion, and of course the Wicked Witch.  Mego even made an Emerald City playset with the Wizard and also a Munchkinland playset with Munkins.

Mego Wizard of Oz
Poseable Character Dolls 1974
Like most of Mego's toys during the mid 1970s these movie character dolls were made of high quality materials with very accurate head sculpts and character costumes.  These were the times that Mego really was on top of its game and took great pride in their products.
