G.I. Joe
A Real American Hero

GI Joe is one of the longest running toy franchises in history.  Originally launched in the 1960s Hasbro's GI Joe Action Figures were immensely popular with children and featured numerous different characters and playsets.  In the 1970's GI Joe continued to evolve and featured smaller scale "Super Joe" figures.  In the 1980s Hasbro again reinvented the line and launched 3 3/4" figures, playsets, and vehicles.  In my view this is the "heyday" of GI Joe action figures as Hasbro brilliantly supported their toy line with a regular cartoon series, comic books, and movies.

Modern Re-issues of the 12" GI Joe action figures.  The pilot, marine, and sailor are Wal-Mart exclusives and the Man of Action is not.
