1974 Toy Fair Industry Trade ShowMego Tap-A-Snapper Store Display from 1974
Several years ago a former Mego Corporation employee revealed that they had been permitted to take home the entire Mego Display from the 1974 Toy Fair trade show and that they had kept all of the items for more than 30 years. These items were auctioned off on Ebay and Mego collectors everywhere jumped in on the action for a chance to win a piece of this historic find. Being the conneiseur of oddball Mego items this Tap-A-Snapper Display caught my eye. Whether it was because the "big money" was focused on the more popular items or just because no one else wanted it, I ended up as the lucky winning bidder.
1974 Mego Toy Fair Display "Tap-A-Snapper"
Tap-A-Snappers were novelty toy items that clipped on to the shoelaces of your sneakers and made a snapping, tapping, clacking sound as you walked. Kind of like if you were tap dancing. This item consists of the entire store display box of Tap-A-Snappers and is only one item from the 1974 Toy Fair exhibit for Mego Corporation that was auctioned off on Ebay a few years back. Hey, I'm just glad I got something!
